Face Lift (Rhytidectomy)

A face lift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgery that will tighten and improve the contours of the face and neck to reduce the signs of aging.

Face Lifts are often combined with other procedures including eyelid surgery, brow lifts, skin peels, or laser skin resurfacing to treat areas of sun damage and fine lines that are not removed by the Face Lift procedure.

What are some limitations of a face lift?

A Face Lift will not stop the aging process. Most results last between 5-10 years.

A Face Lift does not address wrinkles of the forehead or around the mouth.

A Face Lift does not lift drooping eyebrows or change the upper or lower eyelids.

What are the anesthesia options?

Facelift surgery can be performed with local/tumescent anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.

Post-Surgery Care

Recovery from facelift surgery typically takes between 1-2 weeks. You will have dressings and compression garments, and drains may be placed for a few days. Absorbable stitches are used, and you can usually remove the dressings after a couple of days.
