An otoplasty surgery will repair or reshape the ears and improve their appearance.

Ear surgery with an otoplasty will repair or reshape the ears to change the appearance of protruding or uneven ears.

Ear surgery may be performed on adults or children.

Good candidates for an otoplasty through ear surgery:

Are self conscious about the appearance of the ears

Have ear deformities from trauma or genetics

Have uneven ears

Do not smoke

What are the anesthesia options?

Ear surgery with an otoplasty may be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.

Post-Surgery Care

Recovery from ear surgery after an otoplasty typically takes between 1-2 weeks. You will have bandages to wear on your ear for a few days. Absorbable stitches are usually used.
